Experience Summary
I have always excelled in the studies of literature and language. I have my BA in English and my Master of Letters (MLitt) in Shakespeare. My forte is academic writing. I have written two extensive theses, and have a great deal of success in the area of generating topical research and producing valid and arguable thesis statements. I enjoy the research process and have learned the “tricks of the trade” on how to do effective research in a timely and effectual manner. I have acquired an astute knowledge of grammatical rules and functions. My experience in writing has also allowed me to attain a complete understanding of MLA rules, and this is invaluable because proper documentation and citation is necessary to be successful in writing.
Teaching Style
I understand from experience the lasting importance and difference good teachers have on students. I was both lucky and unlucky in my personal experience with teachers. I try to use this dichotomous experience to my advantage when developing and implementing my methodology in working with students. I believe firstly in the one-on-one approach, meaning I will always prefer to sit down and work hands-on with a student. I am also a great exhibitor of patience and when working with a student, or students, I always approach everything with an “I have all the time in the world” frame of mind. I do not believe in rushing through things to get work done quickly but emphasize that it should be done as thoroughly as possible.
