Experience Summary
My experience includes tutoring students from grades K-12. I was a staff at the Boys & Girls Club in Central Florida and I would help students who had questions about their homework assignments, give spelling quizzes for students with spelling words and also listen to students read daily. I’ve also tutored my fellow classmates in college in Pre-Calculus, Statistics, Trigonometry, and Chemistry. Since I’ve earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Science, I prefer to tutor students dealing with Math and/or Science. However, I am also able to tutor students in the Arts as well because my coursework in the last four years have included quite a few research papers and lab reports.
Teaching Style
I would call myself a demonstrator or facilitator. First, I very calmly demonstrate and walk a student through the process of solving a similar problem. Then, I ask the student if they have any questions about the process. After this, I let the student try a few with my assistance and then a few more on his/her own. I don’t move on until I feel the student has grasped the material and feels confident with it no matter how much time and patience it may take. I have a genuine love for working with children.
