Experience Summary
I have been a full-time instructor of 8th Grade Language Arts in preparing lessons and then instructing in the classroom. A major part of this experience has been in grading written reports, determining what areas are strong or weak, and then creating new and exciting ways to help the students achieve the next level in their writing and reading. I have also instructed students in Reading for Enjoyment and have a strong passion for the Language Arts. I have a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies, which includes: English, Humanities and Behavioral Science. I have found that these three areas go very well together and have helped me become a better teacher.
Teaching Style
I love seeing children grasp a new concept or create something new. Each student is so different, which is why I feel that having time with a mentor or tutor is essential to understanding their specific needs. Creating goals is another aspect of my teaching style wherein we set a reasonable goal and then realize that goal. Too many people dream of what they could be and do nothing about it.
