Experience Summary
I have earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and have worked extensively with and for children including a Case Manager at Clay County Behavioral. I have always wanted to be a teacher so earned my Teaching Certification through St. John's River Community College in ESE and Pre-K through 3rd Grade. I have been a teacher's assistant at Wilkinson Elementary in the Trainable/Profoundly Handicapped class and am now in my 2nd year at Shadowlawn Elementary working with the Hearing Impaired assisting in all subjects. I have a minor in Psychology. I feel teaching reading is a strength utilizing many different approaches.
Teaching Style
I believe every student has their own style of learing. I am very much a visual learner and utilize this style. Many students, though, are tactile learners and/or find their attention is kept using computers. I love discovering what type of learner each child is. I like to always be positive and instill in my students that they can accomplish anything we just have to work together and discover their "niche". Seeing a child grow and succeed is my greatest reward.
