Experience Summary

I have a Masters in Science in Education from Niagara University in New York State. I have taught for more than 35 years and have extensive experience in the area of special education. I have worked with developmentally challenged students, children with specific learning disabilities and the deaf.
Teaching Style
I enjoy working with struggling students and feel a great sense of satisfaction when students make progress. I believe in enabling students and my teaching style has developed and continues to evolve over the many years that I have taught. Children learn in different ways so that instructional approaches must vary according to individual needs. I especially enjoy teaching reading and have found that teaching the rules of phonics through rhyme and word families has been very effective. I believe in using positive rewards in order to motivate the children. I know that I have made a positive difference in my students’ lives.
