Experience Summary
During my training to become a Speech and Language Pathologist, I have been lucky enough to encounter a wide variety of students. These opportunities lead me to obtain a position working as a Speech Language Pathologist in the public school system in Alachua county last year. This experience has provided me with limitless knowledge. I also worked for Educational Tutorial services tutoring students from low income homes. In my studies and continued education, I have focused on literacy and exceptional student education. I have begun courses toward my reading endorsement and hope to obtain my certification over the next two years. Currently, I am starting a masters program at Florida Atlantic University.
Teaching Style
If I had to use one word to describe my teaching style it would be active. I believe that you must involve and engage students as much as possible to be an effective teacher. This means providing lessons that are well planned and enjoyable while reinforcing relevant skills. It means having a good teacher student relationship where there is a mutual respect and teamwork to reach a common goal. This also means having an energetic personality that shows the student you are interested in helping them learn. It means showing the student that you care about their success and that with hard work from both parties together those goals can be reached.
