Experience Summary
As a professional holding my teaching degree and now working on my masters in Counseling for Education at the University of North Florida, I love working with students. I substitute taught in Nashville, Tennessee for a semester at the middle school level in every subject. This past school year I substitute taught at the high school level. I took over a Freshman and Sophomore Algebra class for the last two months of school. I loved every second of it and would have loved to have continued, but I already had plans to move to Jacksonville to start on my masters this summer. I also tutored a 6th grade boy in Nashville for a year in math. I am very good working one on one with students. I am willing to take on any challenge.
Teaching Style
I have the belief that every student can achieve and have success. I would have never gone into the teaching field if that was not my belief. I have high expectations for all my students. I know every child has different learning styles and I have been equipped with the skills needed to adapt to those needs. I do however think visuals and hands on learning is key. I'm not super strict, so if that is what you are looking for I am not your tutor. My principle is to learn while having fun. If we can't laugh and still get an A in school then we have done our children an injustice by making them think school is boring. I do my best to do whatever I can to make new material seem easy.
