Experience Summary
I’m a firm believer that with hard work comes great reward.I graduated with a BS degree in journalism. This gave me the opportunity to appreciate the acts of investigation, writing, and deadlines.I held the position of a substitute teacher, and I taught grades from kindergarten to 12th grade. I helped students in a number of subjects including math, English, social studies among others. I’m currently in the final year of completing my masters degree in education. I love children and I love to see them succeed. If I could help in the process it will surly be my pleasure to do so.
Teaching Style
In my opinion teaching a student isn't hard at all. With anything practice makes perfect, and that's exactly what most children need to succeed.I like to use the modeling approach to teaching.I first tell students what to do, then show them how to do it. I always ask the student what it is they think they're suppose to do, because it's my experience that sometimes students get confused on what it is they're tasked with doing. My objective is for the students to learn by understanding and not by memorization. I do this with care and patience.
