Experience Summary
I first began my love of teaching and tutoring children when I was a senior in high school. As the president of my school's National Honor Society, I began a tutoring program that enabled elementary and middle school students to be tutored by high school students. I continued to volunteer and tutor students while I earned my BS in Human and Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University. I am furthering my interest in education and working with children by pursuing my PhD in School Psychology at the University of Florida. I recently tutored a student in reading and writing for almost 1 year. I have always enjoyed math and science, so I would be happy to tutor a student in those areas in addition to reading and writing.
Teaching Style
In my doctoral program, I am specializing in working with students with special needs and disabilities. Therefore, I strongly believe that every child can learn, but I realize that different children learn in different ways. I have learned and have experience implementing strategies and techniques to enable children to learn. I am very patient, easy going, and considerate, and my goal is to always provide children with the best education possible.
