Experience Summary
My 1st teaching experience was as a young Viet Nam veteran teaching cannon gunnery at Ft. Carson Co. Other experience is 1 year at U of South Fl. Evening Division. I also taught 2 years at Academie Da Vinci in Dunedin Grades 1-6 which included language arts, computer science and physical education. In addition I taught 1 year of 7th grade language arts at Weightman Middle School in Wesley Chapel.
I have also coached Little League, been an assistant scoutmaster and taught many internal classes at IBM in a 32 yr career. This included Compensation Practices for Managers, Total Quality Management and many operational classes. My best experience though has been raising my own 4 children who hold 5 college degrees among them.
Teaching Style
My style is to stay flexible and to be creative in seeking methods that will work best for a given child. Ways must be be found to get the child excited by learning, see how learning can be fun and how it can help them in their lives.
Perhaps the most important thing is to get them to take satisfaction in meeting their learning objectives in a concrete way. This is best done by setting progress points and goals that are achievable and satisfying to the student. These are then monitored and measured and teaching geared to progress and shortfalls appropriately.
