Experience Summary
I originally started teaching Business Education. After teaching ESOL (English for Students of Other Languages) for several years at Seminole Community College, I took classes and passed the state exam to become certified in ESOL. Since that time I taught ESOL to both high school and middle school students. In addition, I am also certified to teach Elementary Eduction. Always eager to provide my students with the best education, I have become a certified Thinking Map Trainer.
I have trained in various reading methods that have been incorporated into my classroom.
Teaching Style
I always strive to help my students reach their academic goals.
Having worked as a teacher and a tutor, I first determine the needs of my student. I then make sure we select appropriate materials to work with. It is important to present the information in chunks(segments) and build up from simple to more complex concepts. Reviewing and reinforcing what was previously learned is important. Once a student sees positive changes, that individual will gain confidence and be successful both academically, and socially. I would welcome the opportunity to help your child succeed.
