Experience Summary
I have almost 10 years working as an elementary classroom teacher, elementary reading specialist, middle school reading specialist, and middle school English teacher. In addition, I have worked in educational assessment for state departments of education and for testing corporations. Moreover, I have worked as a professor of teacher education as of college composition.
Currently I work as an adjunct reading professor and teacher education professor for a local college. I also work as a literacy trainer for an education corporation and as a coach for current teachers all over the country. My areas of expertise are reading and writing instruction.
Teaching Style
I love teaching and after twenty years experience in education, still am at it! I believe in differentiated instruction, so I modify assignments and assessments to meet the learning needs of each student. I am a very patient, enthusiastic and fun teacher. I believe in appealing to students' interests, since we learn best when we are motivated by personal investment in the topic. I try to appeal to students' multiple intelligences, bringing in art and music to the learning process.
