Experience Summary
Having taught and tutored middle school to community college level students for more than seven years, I work to inspire them to be active learners. My BA in Mathematics and additional graduate studies in Mathematics Education serve to provide a rich understanding of this subject. Also, my seminary years afforded me ample opportunities through research papers, book reviews, journal entries, and essays to acquire good grammatical skills. I tutored at Pensacola Junior College, Tanya's Tutoring, and Sylvan Learning Center, along with other schools. Moreover, I taught adults Basic Skills Math at Delgado Community College and most recently at New Life Theological Seminary.
Teaching Style
Children have an inate desire to learn: My task is to "train them up in the way they should go, so that when they are old, they will not not depart from it." Having three children of my own, ages 16, 12, and 8, I have always had an active part in teaching them. They have taught me patience, love, and perseverance to the task at hand. Teaching is my gift! Inspiring my students to learn is my passion. Adapting my teaching to their learning style has always proven to be an effective technique.
