Experience Summary
I have been teaching since I was seventeen years old. When I was a teenager in the island of Jamaica, I had very few available opportunities, so after a one year youth service volunteer pogram in a pre-school and kindergarten, I opened my own pre-school to service the children in my community. After migrating to the United States, I taught at a number of pre-schools. I later began working in the mental health field, and for the past 12 years, I have been committed to counseling and mentoring children. I also volunteer my time to teach Sunday school, and more recently began a volunteer reading program at a local commmunity center. For the past five years, I have also taught adult learners seeking a seminary education.
Teaching Style
I enjoy working with children. I believe that all children have their own hidden potential and need the right kind of motivation to inspire them to be the best they can be. Educators are given the opportunity to motivate, inspire, and change the lives of young people. This opportunity should be taken seriously because the greatest legacy we can leave is the impartation of knowledge that motivate others to change their lives positively.
