Experience Summary
I retired last year after teaching Learning Disabilities for 35 years at the high school level. I have taught most subject areas but specialized in math. I also tutored for the last 8 years in the Hospital Homebound Program working with 6th-12th graders in nearly all required subject areas after school. Last year I tutored eight students grades 3rd through 6th in math and english for a private tutoring company.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is reflected in my 35 years of teaching Learning Disabilities. Every student has a different learning style that they use in the educational setting. I use a variety of teaching approaches to find the most productive with the individual student. In all approaches the end result must be the understanding of the material and the ability to show competence. The majority of my teaching and tutoring experience has been with small groups or individually which is why this program is so appealing to me.
