Experience Summary
As a graduate of Florida State University I always have had a passion for music and education. I have earned a BS and MS in Specific Learning Disabilities, Varying Exceptionalities, and English Speakers of Other Languages. I have always had a desire to work with students who have difficulties learning. I enjoy finding new ways to make learning come alive for these students. I have tutored for 4 years and even been an advocate for the parent in an IEP meeting. I have taught in the public schools all grades for 12 years.
Teaching Style
I am passionate about all students having an equal opportunity to learn. I believe all children can and will learn if given the right environment. I empower and encourage students through many different strategies. Making learning fun and exciting is often the tool that is missing in the classroom as well as differentiated instruction. Students learn though discovery and using all senses. I incorporate music as well since it has power to change moods and make connections in learning. I inspire students to make a difference in their own lives by empowering them to achieve success.
