Experience Summary
My career in education began thirteen years ago. I started by volunteering in my son's classes as well as in the library. While volunteering in the library, I taught children how to do to research, write essays and reports, construct Power Point presentations and, finally, how to present their work in front of their peers. I attended the substitute training course and, as a substitute, I have worked with children of all ages and backgrounds as well as in all subjects. More recently, I received my BA in History and my certifications to teach Elementary Education, Art K-12, Earth/Space Science 6-12, and Social Studies 6-12 (which encompasses US history, World History, Geography, Psychology, Religion, and Sociology).
Teaching Style
The Multiple Intelligence Theory considers various possibilities for children’s (and adults’) capacity to learn. Gardner believes that there are any number of ways a person can be successful. I feel that all children are capable if they receive encouragement and that all children have a talent to offer. I also believe that talent and intelligence should be nurtured because everyone is special and has something to contribute to society.
