Experience Summary
A recent graduate with a double major in English and French, I have both academic and professional experience. During college, I maintained a 4.0 in all of my major classes while holding a top editorial position. Furthermore, I possess 3 years of tutoring experience. I have tutored students of various levels and various walks of life on both a free-lance and organizational level. I pride myself in my tutoring experience and truly enjoy the activity.
Teaching Style
I value shared goals for each session and encourage open conversation to cultivate ideas. Typically asked to assist on all levels of essay-writing, I start with the question and expectations. As an editor, I am extremely thorough. I make sure the student understands any edits that I mark are an attempt to help that student best learn. I walk through all edits with the student. I also take an approach of learning WITH the student and will not to lecture AT the student. Instead, I read with the student and ask questions. I am NEVER afraid to admit a lack of knowledge, and will work with the student to find the best possible solution to every problem. I never want my students to feel alone or abandoned in the learning process.
