Experience Summary
I have 22 years of tutoring experience, from both my own business, Mr. Tutor, and freelance work. I have tutored both academic subjects such as Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Non-academic subjects such as Computer Technology, Food and Nutrition Science, and Library Education have also been tutored to students and clients alike. I am currently pursuing additional studies to become a certified Special Education Teacher in Arizona, and I currently substitute teach for several districts in the area of Prescott, AZ and its surrounding communities.
Teaching Style
I have worked with both children and adults. As each tutoring situation is unique, I bring a variety of skills and abilities to each person. I believe in utilizing a multi-sensory, multi-modal approach to teaching and tutoring, incorporating all senses into the teaching and learning experience. It is only through diversified and varied instruction that any type of tutoring session is going to be effective in both knowledge acquisition and information retrieval. I strive to have each student reach their highest level and potential, while at the same time, enjoy the learning experience of each individual tutoring session by tapping into their higher order thinking skills.
