Experience Summary
In 2005, I graduated from Clearwater Christian College with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (K-6) as well as an ESOL endorsement. I have three years of full time teaching experience, teaching both first and third grades, as well as one full year of substitute teaching. Last year, I decided to enter the Pinellas county public school system looking for a full time teaching position. However, due to job shortages, I began substituting while I continued looking for a full time position. Looking back, I value my time as a substitute teacher because it has given me an enriched experience in a variety of classroom settings.
Teaching Style
For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to be a teacher. If you were to ask me to describe myself using three words, I would say that I am caring, compassionate, and committed. John Lubbock once said, "If we succeed in giving the love of learning, the learning itself is sure to follow." This is a quote that I strive to live by, as well as demonstrate daily in my teaching style. I firmly believe in education both as a tool in investing in the future, as well as an opportunity to make a positive difference in children's lives. :)
