Experience Summary
I lived practically on my own since I was 14 years old, when my parents had to return to Venezuela. However, with hard work, resilience, constant effort and the help of good individuals, I have been able to succeed in the United States.
I recently finished finishing my MA at the University of Florida where I worked as a graduate assistant. During my undergraduate education, I graduated with a quadruple major from Ouachita Baptist University
I have tutored since high school through undergrad as a volunteer. My last two years, I formally taught spanish in a program which emulates a high school setting in the summer and a weekend tutoring during their school semester.
Teaching Style
I love teaching students of all ages. All individuals are different, but with patience, consideration and understanding students can improve their understanding of subjects and their learning skills; particularly in independent tutoring sessions. I believe in mixing instructional methods when teaching, including the use of modern means such as computer software. However, when tutoring I believe it is primarily important to engage the student, be creative and understanding. My personal goal is to be give my students a great opportunity for success in later life.
