Experience Summary
I have always had a passion for helping others, especially children, I believe that it is my calling. For this reason, at the age of 14, I launched a tutoring business-A+ Tutorial Service-where I tutored 5 children ages5- 12 in the areas of: math, writing, and reading. I then went on to become a tutor for the after school programs for the Free Library of Philadelphia's LEAP Program while volunteering for several non-profit organizations. In 2007, I taught at Spring Garden Christian Academy in their after school program-during my undergraduate studies at Temple University. I had a classroom of 10 students in grades K-3.Presently, I have joined a new organization in which I will assist with tutoring for underprivileged elementary students.
Teaching Style
I love to work with children, especially children in grades K-6. I believe all children are special and have individual and interesting qualities. It is the job of an EFFECTIVE instructor, to assess what those qualities are and use those to best help the student-allowing them to be the best that they can. I also believe in instilling leadership and independent thinking in all children-as I was taught as a child-that will enable them to be progressive thinkers and learners. The most important thing to me is making a difference in ALL of the lives of my students.
