Experience Summary
I have been a teacher for over 25 years, both in academic and non-academic settings in the U.S. France and Egypt. I have worked extensively with non-Americans of all ages, and am therefore culturally sensitive. I prefer working with students in small groups or on a one-to-one basis where I can give individualized attention and see rapid progress.I currently also train instructors in teaching methodology as well as conduct specialized seminars, such as English Grammar and Language Assessment.
Teaching Style
I prefer working with students in small groups or on a one-to-one basis where I can give individualized attention and see rapid progress. I establish rapport with my students, as I know that if a student is comfortable with his or her teacher, they will learn much more easily. I often write my own supplementary materials and try to make even the driest subject come alive so that the student understands the relevance of that subject.
