Experience Summary
As a Cum Laude graduate of VCU, I achieved my academic goals with a major in chemistry and a minor in mathematics. Upon earning my BS in Chemistry, I also provide much of my chemical and mathematical expertise to fellow classmates by being the leader of study groups and chemistry and mathematical informational sessions. Outside of the university I was also a mentor at a local elementary school where I taught math, reading, and other elementary curriculum.
Teaching Style
After being a mentor for two years and the leader of different study groups for different age levels, I have learned that everyone learns differently and at a different pace. My display of patience, persistence, and constructive suggestions, make it easy for children and fellow classmates to learn at a level in which they are comfortable. My organized, honest, and straight forward teaching tactics make it easy for children to understand that education is important and I can encourage them to learn.
