Experience Summary
My education has given me a unique background in child development and knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques. All of which enable me to create lessons that use innovative methods and approaches to engage all students in the learning process. I have completed a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, a master's degree in Reading and Language Arts, and hold two teaching certifications, Elementary Education and Reading Specialist. I have had numerous experiences working with children including teaching, tutoring, working as a nanny, and a camp counselor. I am currently working as a reading specialist and have tutored children in a variety of settings.
Teaching Style
I am a teacher because I enjoy hard work and helping others find success. I want my students to experience meaningful, interesting learning that applies to their lives. I believe this can be accomplished through the use of hands-on/minds-on activities, cooperative learning, an integrated curriculum, and, when possible, technology and the internet. I possess excellent skills in planning, classroom management, motivation, rapport with students and parents, differentiated instruction, and teaching strategies for a variety of learning styles.
