Experience Summary
After graduating from Central Michigan with a BS in Business, I decided to go back to school to become a science teacher. I will be certified to teach grades 7-12 in Biology and in Chemistry. I am currently finishing up my last 3 classes before I begin student teaching. In the fall I will teach classes at Eastern Michigan to prospecting elementary teachers. I have also taught several lessons at the middle school and high school level and have tutored students one-on-one.
Teaching Style
Science is not the easiest of concepts to grasp so in order to enhance student learning I input a bit of humor into my lesson. I am very good at creating analogies to scientific processes and I have seen positive results from this. My goal is to create student understanding without the typical "memorize and recall" method which I feel is a burden on education and does not promote student learning. I love teaching science and my method is always to make the subject fun and interesting in any way that I can.
