Experience Summary
My experience lies in business, with a bachelor degree in Marketing, which included a minor in Spanish. Although I do not have a background in education, I have always been a useful tool for students. I have been tutoring students since my senior year at Germantown High school. At the University of Tennessee, I tested out of college pre-algebra, algebra, pre-calculus. I also tested into the two-hundred level Spanish courses. For that reason, I have tutored math, Spanish, and some statistics over the last four years at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and at Austin East High School in Knoxville, TN.
Teaching Style
My teaching style varies with each student. I think it's important to understand the problem areas and make the problems seem as simple as possible. I am patient and persistent, and I believe repetition is very important. I also am a stickler on not being afraid to ask questions. My mom tells me all the time, "You know not, because you ask not." I use my ability to relate and good sense of humor to make the students feel comfortable in knowing that they can ask anything, and there is no such thing as a dumb question. I simply just try to help students see the subject in a different and less complicated way.
