Experience Summary
I have over 14 years experience in applying statistics, mathematical modeling and operations research techniques to complex national security policy problems at a major "think tank". In addition, I recently completed teaching an international relations theory course at the University of Richmond. In addition, I have 3 years experience as an instructor navigator in the US Air Force. I have extensive experience in creating written reports and oral presentations for senior national decision makers.
Teaching Style
I have considerable experience working with college/high school students and I really enjoy impacting their lives by imparting knowledge and skills to them. I know that all students face challenges in learning certain concepts or ideas, and that each has their own learning style. I strive to present information in a number of different ways - visual, verbal, practical, theoretical, etc. that are tailored to the learning style of individual students. I believe in instilling a strong grasp of fundamental, underlying concepts and building from those to more detailed or advanced ideas.
