Experience Summary
Over the past few months I have been involved with substitute teaching in Richland School District 2. Since being involved I have gotten very much involved in every aspect of teaching. I have been requested at serveral of the district schools because of the way I respond to being in the classroom and working with children of age grades and ages. I am very excited about being in the schools on a daily basis and plan to take things a step further and pursue a full time teaching position in the upcoming school through an accrediated university program.
Teaching Style
I feel as though I am highly qualified and competitive for a teaching position because of my abilities to relate to children of all ages. As a volunteer basketball referee at Northside Baptist Church, Upward basketball program since 1998, I work with children between the ages of 7 and 13. I teach them about basketball and sportsmanship.
As a parent of a 17 year old son, I constantly mentor him and his friends on life, school and everything in between. I really enjoy talking to these young men and giving them information about the importance of education. This seems to have a positive impact on the decisions they are starting to make.
I am very eager to get into the school system as a full time teacher. I enjoy working with children and desire to be a role model for the youth of today.
I look forward to asset the school district and impacting my community through leadership and mentoring.
