Experience Summary
I have always wanted to teach Math and Science. I have volunteered tutored on and off for five years for friends and family. I have a BS in Chemistry and have worked as a Chemist for 13 years. I currently am working as an accountant. I enjoy formulas and showing my students how everything comes togeher. Most people find Math frustrating and I enjoy showing them a different way to approach problems. I have tutored elementary students in all subjects, high school students in all subjects, and college students in algebra, calculus, physics, chemistry, biochemistry, computer science, and biology.
Teaching Style
I really enjoy tutoring. I love watching the students gain confidence as we work through the problems. I believe my attitude and approach to teaching helps the students. I provide enough understanding to the students but still challenge them. The worst thing you can do, is just give the answers. I believe everyone wants to learn and do their best, but it is hard when you do not understand what you are trying to do. I enjoy providing that one on one attention to open their minds and show them they can do it.
