Experience Summary
I have a BS in Middle Grades Education from Georgia Southern University. I am certified to teach both math and science. I have worked with children of all age ranges through teaching at a preschool, teaching at a summer/Christmas camp, and tutoring fellow members of my Church. I assisted with coaching the math team this past semester at SE Bulloch Middle. I have also tutored college algebra for fellow Georgia Southern students. I have taken courses through Calculus 1.
Teaching Style
I have an adaptable teaching style. Teaching is most effective on the individual level. On the rare occasions I have been able to work one-on-one with a student, I am able to approach the material in various ways to best fit that student's needs. Most students in today's society are visual learners. Visual aides usually work the best with these students. When these students don't grasp material, usually it is because they are not able to conceptualize it. However, if you can assist by showing, the student gets a jump-start into comprehension. When i teach material, I do not simply teach What the students need to know to solve a problem. I teach higher-level thinking to allow for the students to dissect problems and understand why and how solutions work.
