Experience Summary
I received my college degree in English from Willamette University, and I have a great deal of experience with the written word. I have been an editor of the Oregon voters’ pamphlet, co-editor of the college newspaper at Chemeketa Community College and an intern in communications at Willamette University. I have been a writing tutor at both Chemeketa and Willamette and a tutor in the ABE/GED program at Chemeketa and at a community college in Bethel, Alaska. I taught English as a Foreign Language to both high school and university students while in the Peace Corps in Uzbekistan.
Teaching Style
I have been a writing tutor for many years, and my teaching style is relaxed, positive and designed to meet the specific needs of the student with whom I am working. I do whatever it takes for as long as necessary to help a student succeed. I will change directions in mid-lesson, if necessary, to give the student a positive and successful educational experience.
