Experience Summary
While earning my degree in physics, I became involved in the Structured Learning Assistance program at my university. As an SLA leader, I taught twice-weekly workshops for students with difficulties in mathematics. At the same time, I tutored students at the university’s Academic Support Center in mathematics (from basic arithmetic to calculus) and physics. I also have several years of experience as a youth athletic coach. My degree gives me a good understanding of many scientific and mathematical concepts.
Teaching Style
I am a positive and encouraging person. I want to build the student’s confidence, as well as his/her skills. I have a broad skill set, and so can approach problems in multiple ways, enabling students with different learning styles to have a better chance of acquiring the information or techniques. I am eternally patient, and will not quit as long as the student is unwilling to quit. I am also a believer in consistent effort, and feel that, with practice, any skill can be learned.
