Experience Summary
I just recently received my bachelor degree in English literature. I have always been passionate about learning and teaching. Over my four years in college I was able to develop an advanced skill set for both interpreting and writing about literature, culminating in writing a senior thesis interpreting James Joyce’s Ulysses. These skills allowed me to receive the Frank Krutzke award for the best thesis written by a senior English major. In the four years that I tutored I have helped students with basic mathematics and English, as well as helping students to write research papers on various subjects.
Teaching Style
I have always loved working with children. I believe that not only does every child learn and comprehend the material differently, but also each child must approach each subject differently. It is my job to discover the best method to help each specific child reach his or her full potential. I do not believe in editing students’ papers for them, but rather with them. I try to share my passion for education with my students and hope to give them a set of tools that they will be able to use in the years after they have moved on from tutoring.
