Experience Summary
As a college graduate at a small liberal arts university, I have always valued education. I received my bachelor degree in Psychology in spring 2006. During college, i had the opportunity to tutor for a 5th grade classroom in all subjects. After college I have worked at two jobs which allowed me to tutor. As a Family Services Counselor with DCF I tutored children on my caseload of all ages in subjects of English, History, Psychology, mathematics, and sciences. In my current job I have clients that attend the Drop Back In Academy and FCCJ and tutor in math, science, and computer sciences.
Teaching Style
I enjoy teaching and have always had a passion for working with children. i feel that with the right encouragement any child can learn the skill sets necessary to succeed. i believe that positive encouragement is the key to helping children learn. I have gained a different perspective in my current job while working with adults with developmental disabilities. It amazes me to see what structure and praise can do for a child. i desire to make a difference in the people's lives i work with by being a positive role model and never doubting a child's potential.
