Experience Summary
Teaching has been an integral part of my life from graduate school to today. I taught English 1 and 2 as a graduate student at both WVU and Franciscan University of Steubenville. From 1991-1999, I was Director of Religious Education at two different churches. My responsibilites included developing programs and teaching students of all ages as well as adults. For the past three years, I have been teaching in the English department at Butler County Community College. I have taught mainly writing and reading courses at this level.
Teaching Style
Teaching has always been a passion for me, but I have learned over the years that each individual has a unique way of learning. The job of a teacher is to find the channel into that learning style. Tutoring proides the perfect opportunity to focus on one student at a time and asses his or her personal needs and style. I would enjoy the one-on-one aspect of tutoring and hope that I could provide a relaxed and fun atmosphere along with a high level learning experience.
