Experience Summary
My career passion of working with children began over 20 years ago with Seminole County School Board in September 1987. I spent the first 16 years in the Seminole County School Board as an assistant. My duties ranged from assisting the needs of the teachers to assisting students with various needs. After about 10 years, I decided that teaching is what I wanted to do with my life. I decided to go back to school to earn my teaching degree in 1995 by taking one class at a time during at night. In 2002, with my husband and family's support, I was able to attend college full time, thus earning my teaching degree in Elementary Education K-6 with an ESOL endorsement in 2005. The best decision I made was becoming a teacher. Seeing the eyes of a child light up each day is worth all of my time and effort!
Teaching Style
Every child has the ability to be successful! Some just need that extra time, and some just need extra help. I do not, and I have never believed that a child does not have the ability to learn. I tell my students that they are not allowed to say "can't" or anything negative about themselves.
Not every student has the same needs, and not every student learns in the same way. Students sometimes need assistance in finding their way of learning and it is the responsibility of an educator to see that each child receives the differentiated instruction needed in order to be successful. My goal is to help each child reach their goal in whatever way they learn best. My way, your way, others' ways are not always the best way for each child. Every child is unique and each child deserves the opportunity to reach his/her full potential. The interest, ability, and success of each child is and will always be my first priority. Each student will receive the best I have to offer. I will work diligently by providing the student with patience, respect, and the skills needed for their success. I will make a difference in the lives of all of my students!
