Experience Summary
Having been reading since I was two it was a natural progression of events that, despite my dyslexia, I completed my BA in English Literature and thereby am intimately acquainted with all of the generas, nuances, and demands that true literacy requires. I started off college as a Micro-biology major so I have spent a good amount of time buried in the lab as well as Chaucer and Milton. I have been tutoring and helping my peers and their children for many years in science, art, history, literature and music.
Teaching Style
I am a huge advocate for the theory of multiple intelligences. I believe every child is capable, its just a matter of figuring out how they process information. Academic success is just one measure of growth, but whole learning is what I consider true success and I believe when the whole child is taught that academic success will invariably follow. I am Queen Patience and Queen enthusiasm. It's almost impossible not to get excited and energized when I'm around and involved. Most importantly, I teach people more than a subject, I teach them how to learn, and that is what a lifetime of success needs.
