Experience Summary
I've been a private tutor in advanced math and physics for two years now. Although I am able to sustain my lifestyle with my current students, I am looking to expand my tutoring into a position with more hours.
As a life-long college student, I've received 3 different A.S. degrees including Physics. I am currently an Arizona State University student working toward my Bachelor's in Engineering Physics.
I have found tutoring to be the absolute best way to study for your own material. As years go by it is very easy to forget the simple and easy rules we learned when we were young in a simple algebra class, and my performance at much higher levels has been stronger due to my constant review of lower level mathematics with my students.
Teaching Style
I enjoy working with adults, but I have worked with all levels (including high functioning autistic teens). I have found that the advanced material can be presented in a simple manner that can make even the most difficult of concepts understandable. I have found that once a student understands the concept, the rest follows. It is rare that I see a student perform as well as the ones I tutor when they simply "memorize the rules", and have always found that years later my students still know the material and are able to apply it when needed.
