Experience Summary
While in High School, I tutored Junior High School and High School students in Mathematics. As an adjunct lecturer, I taught Introductory courses in Probability and Statistics at several Universities. I also taught Chassidic Philosophy at the Rabbinic College of America, and recently I have been a substitute teacher at the Rohr Bais Chaya Academy for Girls, teaching Judaic Studies, Mathematics, Chemistry, Economics, and History.
During my 28 year career as a Consultant Statistician and Statistical Application Developer, I also have led seminar series, presented material at conferences, and mentored junior statisticians and programmers.
Teaching Style
My style is to be a facilitator to the student. I don't believe so much in teaching as in learning. In a cooperative fashion, I ask leading questions to get students to think in the right direction and then discover the answers themselves. I have found that this approach facilitates the student's self-confidence and motivates him or her to learn.
