Experience Summary
After earning a BS in Statistics from UCSB, I worked as a substitute teacher for a year at a private school in Santa Barbara (Santa Barbara Christian School). Motivated by that positive experience, I obtained a teaching credential in Mathematics Secondary Education from UCSB, graduating as Student Teacher of the Year. I had the opportunity to teach High School in Oxnard and Middle School at Carpinteria Middle School, after receiving my credential. For the past 15 years, I have owned a web consulting business that employs the mathematics I learned as a student.
Teaching Style
I present mathematical techniques and concepts in every day language that is easy for anyone to quickly understand. Students who find mathematics dull or disconnected from their world will have an 'aha' moment after hearing it all described using logic, vocabulary and analogies familiar to them.
