Experience Summary
As a liberal arts graduate in 1981 with a BA in sociology, magna cum laude, I was driven to achieve a level of excellence in my academic career. I have always loved school, and I have done well in all areas that I have studied. In 2003, I decided to pursue an associates degree in Veterinary Technology because of my love for animals. However, after giving this field several years of my life, I decided to move on. I would like to work in a field which uses my academic knowledge, and I believe tutoring one-on-one with students would be mutually satisfying.
Teaching Style
When I tutored sixth-graders in 2000, I found it to be very rewarding. The students in Lowell came from varying backgrounds with different levels of proficiency in English. I was able to help them improve their reading and writing skills, as well as their mathematical skills. I am a compassionate, patient, caring person, and I feel the students responded well to this demeanor. I strive to make a positive difference in each student's life.
