Experience Summary
I have been a teacher for ten years. I have been substitute teaching between contract French teaching assignments. I have worked with, taught, and tutored students of different classes, different ethnic and racial backgrounds. I have substituted many different subjects and taught students at many different levels and abilities. I have tutored adults in basic education for their GED exam as well as adult ELL/ESL students. I have taught summer school high school Math and English and proctored the exams for the MN basic standards graduation tests.
Teaching Style
I don't have a style. I try to go with the flow. What that means is I assess what the students know, what they don't know, and what they need to know and adjust what I teach and how I teach it accordingly. I can go over/review information as many times as students need it. It is important to go back to the old information that was learned and review it, so students keep adding to what they know as they learn new information. If the students know the old information, then I don't review it as much or as long as I would if they were having problems with remembering the old information that was taught. I try to give each student what they need, based on their deficiencies and their questions.
