Experience Summary
Graduating from Northwestern University, I know what it takes to succeed in the classroom. I received two degrees in math and economics, giving me a strong foundation in math and science. Upon graduation I worked for two years with a Christian ministry where I gained experience mentoring students one-on-one and in small group Bible studies. Currently I am pursuing my master’s degree at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. In addition, I work as a teacher in a private high school where I have the opportunity to teach Calculus, Algebra, Physics, and Logic. I feel comfortable teaching any subject and am passionate about helping others learn.
Teaching Style
My goal with your child is not merely to transfer information but to cultivate a love for learning and a passion for excellence. I enjoy thinking through creative ways to teach ordinary subjects that can help a student enjoy the learning process. Knowing that each student is unique, I seek to explain concepts in a variety of ways until it “clicks” for each person. I also believe that practice is the mother of learning, whether on the basketball court or in the classroom. I would want your student to practice the needed skill until he/she is confident with it. I know from experience the profound influence that a teacher can have on a student both as a role model and academically. I hope to provide both of these for your child.
