Experience Summary
As the daughter of an illerate parent, I have learned the value of being able to read and that of an education. My education is the second most important thing to me. I am the single mother of two children, in order to support them while attaining my degree I cleaned houses. This experience only solidified , in my mind, the importance of education. While pursuing my degree in English, I learned how to communicate my thoughts through writing and researching for various papers in different subjects. The paper writing process has taught me to constantly work on grammatical and research skills. While attainging my education I tutored students in English, Literature and writing. I also was chosen to do an internship for a Princeton Graduate as her teaching assistant for English 101.
Teaching Style
I believe that being a teacher is a calling. I feel that I have been called. I have ADD and believe that this allows me to understand the need to approach teaching in different ways, depending on each childs needs. I feel that children have the ability to learn more than we adults. They just have more obstacles to overcome. My objective is to allow each child to feel secure, safe and for each students educational expierence to be rewarding, exciteing and fun. All children can succeed and achieve in an enviorment that includes patience, understanding, encouragement and inspiration. I will make a positive difference in each students life.
