Experience Summary
I received a full scholarship to Samford University upon graduation from high school. My desire was to teach. Because of family obligations, I was unable to continue my formal education and went to work for an organization that fortunately believed in the power of growing their employees. In the Bell System, billions of dollars were spent annually to teach employees how to build constructive work environments. I spent over two decades learning and teaching others how to learn in the corporate environment. I learned from many "best-practices" experts in the human resource field how to bring out the best in others. I believe children need to learn these skills early. How better to demonstrate that to them than in proving to them through their own learning experiences, how easy and rewarding it is for them to apply these skills to themselves.
Teaching Style
I love learning and I love children. The idea of helping a child or teenager develop a lifelong desire of learning and believing in their ability to set and achieve goals is the most rewarding experience I can imagine. I believe my ability to inspire others to stretch beyond what they previously believed to be possible is one of my major strengths. I believe in the power of words when coaching another and choose mine carefully. I believe all of us have greater abilities than we give ourselves credit for, but we first must believe we have those abilities. Then we can use them. My track record is excellent in the area of providing that hope.
