Experience Summary
As a recent college graduate, my mind is sharp and my skills are fresh. Having written for my College newspaper, I finally realized how naturally writing came to me and how much I enjoyed it. Time spent in the professional media world with the Boston Herald helped me hone my skills and further educated me on the different styles of writing. Throughout my educational years, I received stellar grades on book reports, essays, term papers, thesis papers and more. Taking the natural gift of being able to transfer my thoughts, feelings and emotions onto paper and adding the knowledge I have gained of proper grammar and writing style has helped to sculpt me into the scribe I am today. Over the past few years I have tutored my three cousins, ages 6-13 and prior to that I was a student tutor for my local high school. I am well versed in creative writing, general writing, essay writing, grammar and spelling.
Teaching Style
I have always enjoyed spending time and working with children. At a young age I helped my mother run an in-home daycare and I currently live with three younger cousins. I have spent countless hours assisting them with homework, provoking them to think creatively for school projects and helping them grow into responsible, smart and caring persons. I think every child has a special gift; you just need to help them find it. I feel that if you can find a way to spark interest in a subject and allow the student to relate their work to something they are passionate about, then they are destined to succeed. As a patient and kind person, it will be my goal to help my students strive to achieve their best work. I thank all of the educators in my life who have helped me along the way and I would love the opportunity to return that favor. Inspiring children to be proud of their work, knowing they gave it their all and helping them achieve academic success is something I look forward to sharing with my clients.
