Experience Summary
I have left the corporate after 18 years to pursue teaching. I have two bachelors degrees in physics & mech. engineering. I want to put these to use and make an impact on kids in my community. I have been pursuing a lateral teaching entry position, while substituting. I am mentoring with a local teacher and have finished a course in effective teaching. I am tutoring at my church and reading education material, along with boning up on science material.
Teaching Style
I am by nature an encourager. I am optimistic every child can learn -- the trick is to spark an interest in the subject and communicate the material to them in an understandable way. Learning at its best should be fun and educational, though not necessarily entertaining. Having said that, there are no shortcuts for hardwork and homework and repetitions on problem solving.
