Experience Summary
I have just finished my student teacher internship at Spring Valley High School. I was a tutor for the Upward Bound Program at the University of Nevada, Reno for three years. While working there I tutored high school students in all core subject areas. I also have a math background, so I became the go to tutor for math. I also have experience tutoring students for the Sierra Association for Foster Families in Reno Nevada. There I tutored foster children of all grade levels for six months. I loved this job. As I graduated I had to leave and relocate to Las Vegas.
Teaching Style
I can't wait to begin my career as a teacher. I am a advocate for education. My teaching style includes lessons revolved around collberative learning and discovery based exploration. I believe the best learning involves real life relavancy for students. My best experiences have been when my students walk out of the classroom still discussing the lesson. I also try to promote improving literacy in all my lessons. I always to try to incorporate various scaffolds within my lessons such as graphic organizers and media to guide students in the process.
