Experience Summary
I hold a B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering and a Minor in Business Administration. Upon completion of my college education in the USA, I returned to Sri Lanka to manage my family business where, apart from management experience, I developed many people-skills such as communication development, life-coaching and teaching/training employees English/grammar (As English is not the native language).
I am very fluent in both Written and spoken English, Math and Science.
During my higher education and then as a business executive,I have extensive experience in writing official letters, reports, research papers etc.
Even though I do not possess direct teaching/tutoring experience I have experience at the Boys and Girls Club of Milwaukee where I volunteered to help students with home work, arts and crafts. I have also mentored my relatives (of various ages) on numerous subjects such as essay writing for school and college, Math and Accounts.
Teaching Style
I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with the young and old alike.
It is my belief that learning is a life experience that never ends. Every day, we all learn something new from our parents, teachers, neighbors, friends, co-workers and even sometimes strangers.
I consider myself a patient and understanding person who is easy to communicate with. Students possess various levels of comprehension, attention span and learning methods. While some may prefer examples and analogies others maybe resort to memorization and relating to experiences. Being fully aware of this, I am able to adapt to each and every student's individual learning style and accommodate them in whatever aspect necessary.
